Delta Defense
Overnight Success...That Took 10 Years!

I began the USCCA in 2003. Back then, I used to own a struggling engineering business and I
was also a brand new father. And then I went through my own personal “self-defense”
awakening. You see, I finally realized that it was MY responsibility to protect and defend my loved
ones. As it turns out, the USCCA was the business that I was “supposed” to do… we’re now the
first and largest, member-owned association that educates, trains, equips and insures
responsibly armed Americans. - Tim Schmidt

I’m an engineer turned entrepreneur. I believe in the society-transforming power of the responsibly armed American. I believe that it’s possible to work hard and have fun at the same time. I believe in being humbly confident. I like to shoot guns, ride motorcycles, travel with my family and read books. I believe that personal happiness is always an “inside-job.” To me, Delta Defense and the USCCA are a dream come true.
I am the Chief Financial Officer for Delta Defense, LLC. I believe in our mission, to educate, train, equip and insure the responsibly armed American. I believe in our commitment to advance this mission, one member at a time. I like to run, hike, camp, and play water sports with my family. I believe in the personal responsibility to be optimistic, happy, spiritual and nurturing.
My position started at Delta as the ‘one girl office’ and I am currently Executive Assistant to the CEO and CFO - working in the Finance Department. I believe in honesty, accountability, loyalty and that hard work contributes to success. Playtime includes traveling - especially in our RV with my husband and Collies, tennis, reading, spending time with family/friends and shopping! Life’s too short to be anything but happy.
As a soldier who evolved into a self-defense instructor, I believe that everyone has the God-given right to protect themselves. I believe in the "Golden Rule": treat others as you want to be treated. I believe that loyalty is essential to esprit de corps. I like traveling with my family, the freedom I feel on my Harley, and the happy greetings I get from my Labrador Retrievers. I'm truly blessed to be part of Delta Defense and the USCCA.

I believe in making every moment a learning experience. I believe you can work hard and still have fun. I believe in accountability. I believe Delta Defense has helped shape who I am today. I like to read books, make memories with family and friends, ride our motorcycle and ice fish.
I spent 4 years in the U.S. Army as a tanker and was sent to Iraq for 2 tours of duty. I was able to attend the Corrections and Police academies and worked for a short time in a prison while I lived in Florida. I believe hard work and accountability are the keys to a great employee. I love shooting guns - more specifically handguns and military style weapons.
I am a very outdoorsy person and I love photography. I believe that you should never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it, the time will pass anyway. Working here at Delta Defense is a dream come true, you make a difference and are part of an amazing family. At the end of the day you are very proud of the work you do, the person you are and the difference you make.
I’m an Irish bartender at heart who lives to make people's day. I’m a recovering corporate professional that has been blessed to be a part of a business family that is creating its own amazing revolution in an industry I believe strongly in. I believe in the strength of family, accountability and the importance of continuous improvement. I enjoy traveling, laughing, meeting new people, hanging with old friends, talking about the future, reminiscing about the past, and loving that the company I work for supports and encourages all of the above.
Tim's Story

On the evening of July 8th, 2003, Delta Defense was “born” at
the kitchen table of my small house in West Bend, WI. It was there
that I created the very first issue of Concealed Carry Magazine. It
took me nearly six months and every dime I had to create that
first issue.

You see, I had just gone through my own self-defense
“awakening.” The birth of my first son caused me to rethink my
roles and responsibilities as a father and provider. It was this
“awakening” that had driven me to attempt to create Concealed
Carry Magazine.

Well, the magazine was a complete flop for the first two years. It
completely drained my life savings and continually caused me to
re-think this idea of mine to start a new business by supporting
the concept of the “Responsibly Armed American.”

As I reflect back on those early years, it was my wife Tonnie who
stood proudly by my side and simply believed in me. I’m pretty
sure the word “faith” is defined as having belief in the absence of
proof. Well, my wife Tonnie had a lot of faith in me... because there was absolutely zero proof that Concealed Carry Magazine
would work.

It was in 2005 that things finally took a turn for the better. That
was when I “officially” created the United States Concealed Carry
Association (USCCA). It was the USCCA that saved Concealed
Carry Magazine from the scrap heap of failed business ventures.
By giving more and more value to our members, I was able to
transform a struggling magazine into the largest concealed carry
organization in the United States of America!

Things certainly didn’t change over night but the USCCA is now
the first and largest, member-owned association designed to
educate, train, equip & insure you, the responsibly armed

Every month, tens of thousands of responsibly armed Americans
turn the pages of Concealed Carry Magazine and enjoy the many
benefits of USCCA membership. It’s hard to believe this all started
at my kitchen table!

Take care and stay safe.

Our Location

Delta Defense’s home inhabits the previous location of the Museum
of Wisconsin Art in West Bend. Our headquarters are across the
street from the West Bend Community Memorial Library and west
of the Old Courthouse Square museums run by the Washington
County Historical Society Inc. The building is equipped with a staff
exercise room and a newly added second floor balcony that houses
our in-house library with seating. The large exhibition hall, once
home to Carl von Marr’s massive painting, “The Flagellants,”
has been remodeled into a meeting space and offices for our
marketing staff.
